In 2019, almost 800 abused and neglected children in Pulaski, and Rockcastle Counties were eligible for a CASA advocate. Your donation will allow CASA of Southern Kentucky to continue its work in providing services for child victims of abuse and neglect in our area. CASA volunteers are appointed by judges to ensure that a child’s psychological, physical, educational, and other needs are being met while in the child welfare system. Empowered directly by the courts, these volunteers make recommendations and offer judges the critical information they need to act in the child’s best interest. Volunteers stay with each child until the child’s case is closed and the child is placed in a safe, permanent home. For many abused children, their CASA volunteer will be the only constant adult presence in their lives.
